How to Spot a Fake Earning App or Online Money Scam
Warning signs of fake earning apps and online money scams, and the questions to ask before you give any site your time or your mobile money details.
For every honest way to earn online there are imitations designed to take your money, your mobile money PIN or your free work. These warning signs apply to any site or app, including ours.
Red flags
- You must pay to join or to withdraw. Reward platforms are paid by advertisers. A deposit or an "activation fee" is a scam.
- Guaranteed daily income. Real rewards depend on the offers you complete. Fixed daily figures for watching videos or clicking links are not real.
- Your earnings only grow if you recruit people. Referral rewards are normal; a scheme that pays mainly from new members' deposits is a pyramid.
- Someone asks for your PIN or a code. No genuine company needs your mobile money PIN or the one-time codes sent to you.
- No company behind it. A legitimate platform names the company that runs it, publishes terms and a privacy policy, and gives a way to contact it.
- Withdrawals are always "processing". A real platform shows what you will receive before you confirm and tells you why a payment is waiting.
Questions to ask before you start
- Who operates the site, and where are its terms and privacy policy?
- Does it show the fee and the exact amount you will receive before you confirm?
- Does it explain any waiting period, and why it exists?
- Can you reach support, and do they answer?
How Earnify Africa answers those questions
Earnify Africa is operated by ABODIGITAL (Pty) Ltd, and its Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are linked at the bottom of every page. Joining is free and there is nothing to pay to withdraw: the processing fee is taken from the withdrawal itself and shown in your quote before you confirm. Every withdrawal waits 48 hours for a security check, and that is stated up front. We never ask for your PIN, your password or the codes we email you.
